Privacy Policy for Wordkowski
Effective date: September 21, 2026
The short version
Wordkowski does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data — from you, or about you. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no network connection of any kind while you play. This policy exists to say that formally, and to explain exactly what little data the app does keep (entirely on your own device) and why.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect, and the app has no technical means to collect:
- Your name, email address, or any other contact information
- Your location
- Your device's advertising identifier or any other tracking identifier
- Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind
- Any information about how, when, or how often you use the app
There is no account system and nothing to sign in with, so there is no profile of you anywhere — on our servers or anyone else's.
The app works entirely offline
Wordkowski makes zero network requests at runtime. It doesn't check for daily puzzles from a server, doesn't phone home on launch, and doesn't sync anything to the cloud. You can play with Wi-Fi and cellular data both switched off and nothing about the app's behavior changes. There is no server for your data to go to, because we don't run one for the app.
What's stored on your device
The app saves a small amount of data locally, using Apple's
standard on-device storage (UserDefaults), so your
progress survives closing or restarting the app:
- Your current in-progress puzzle (the board and guesses so far)
- Your play statistics (games played, win streak, guess distribution)
This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to any server we control, not visible to us, and not shared with anyone. Deleting the app deletes this data along with it.
No third parties
Wordkowski does not integrate any third-party SDKs — no analytics libraries, no advertising networks, no crash-reporting services, nothing. We don't share, sell, or transfer any information to third parties, because we don't collect any information to share in the first place.
The optional bug report feature
If you choose to report a bug, the app can draft an email on your behalf using your device's own default Mail app. This is entirely optional and happens only if you tap into that screen and choose to send it — nothing is sent automatically or in the background. The draft includes a snapshot of your current game state and stats (so we can understand the bug) as readable text in the email body, which you can review, edit, or delete before sending. That email goes to [email protected] and is handled like any other email you send — the app itself has no part in transmitting it beyond opening the pre-filled draft.
Children's privacy
Wordkowski does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. Because there is no data collection at all, the app does not knowingly or unknowingly gather personal information from users under 13 (or any other age).
Your rights
Since we don't collect any personal data, there's nothing on our end to access, correct, export, or delete — your game data lives only on your device, under your control, and is removed the moment you delete the app. This applies equally under GDPR, CCPA, and any other privacy regulation: there is no data of yours for us to act on.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that changes what's described above — we'll update this page and revise the effective date at the top. We will not walk back the "no data collection" commitment without being explicit about exactly what changed and why.
